Privacy
What we collect when you buy a ticket, and what we do (and don't do) with it.
What we collect
When you buy a ticket through this site, we collect the name and email address you enter at checkout, an optional phone number, the last 4 digits of the card you paid with (returned to us by Square for receipt purposes), the seats and performance you selected, and the order total. If you redeem a Golden Ticket, Orchestra comp, or Green code, we record which code was used and when. That's the whole list.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Square (Block, Inc.). CAPA never sees your full card number - Square handles the card data directly from your browser. Square's privacy policy applies to that part of the transaction and is available at squareup.com/legal/privacy.
Email
Your ticket confirmation email is delivered through Resend, our transactional-email provider. They process the message on our behalf and don't use the address for anything else. We don't add you to a marketing list and we don't share your address with third parties.
The next-season email list
Between seasons the home page offers one thing: a box where you can leave your email to hear when next year's tickets go on sale. That's opt-in and separate from anything above - we store only the address you type, we don't connect it to any order, and we use it for exactly that one announcement. Buying a ticket never puts you on it. Want off? Email admin@capaaustin.com and we'll remove you.
How we use what we collect
Order data is used to issue your tickets, verify them at the door, and keep the seat count honest. Aggregate counts (e.g., “how full is Friday night?”) are visible to CAPA staff and the show's production team. Individual orders are visible only to authorized CAPA admins.
What we don't do
No third-party advertising trackers. No analytics that fingerprint you. No selling of email addresses or order data. No retargeting ads. No text messages - a phone number you gave us at checkout is for reaching you about that order, nothing else.
Who we share data with
We never sell your data and we never share it with third parties for their own use. The only outside companies that touch it are Square (processes the card payment) and Resend (delivers your ticket email and the next-season announcement). Both act on CAPA's behalf and only see what they need to do their job.
Retention
We keep full purchaser details - name, email, phone - for 180 days after your order. That window covers the show itself, post-show questions, refund requests, and accounting reconciliation. After 180 days, an automated monthly job anonymizes the order: the name is replaced with
[purged], and the email and phone fields are nulled. The order row itself stays so settlement and per-show counts (which only need totals, not who bought them) continue to balance.
Want your data deleted sooner? Email admin@capaaustin.com and Lora will take care of it.Children
This site is not directed at children. The purchaser is presumed to be an adult; tickets for children are bought by a parent or guardian using their own information.
